Summer is a unique season at UCLA.
It is the only time that non-matriculated students can take advantage of everything that UCLA offers. Summertime is when UCLA opens its doors!
Join in on over 1,000 academic courses during their annual Summer Sessions Program. Explore the 419 acre campus with 174 associated buildings in a combination of Modern and Romanesque architecture. Access one of the top ten research libraries in the United States. UCLA features a wide variety of athletic and recreation facilities like tennis courts, including those built for the 1984 Olympics, a number of outdoor swimming pools, tracks, a soccer field and the iconic Wooden Recreation and Sports Center.
Students descend on the University for Summer Session from all over the world. Over 1,300 international students will study and live with their American peers. It is a time for highly motivated high school students to preview campus life. Summer Session students also include working professionals, members of the community, and returning UCLA alumni.
Students can take part in Summer Sessions in one of two ways. They can take individual UCLA academic courses or they can participate in specialized summer institutes. Both offer an extraordinary learning experience.
Summer at UCLA is a terrific time to complete course requirements or simply explore a topic of interest. It is a perfect opportunity to advance your academic career. Students taking part in Session A or Session C courses must be at least 15 years old by September 1, 2016. Students do not need to be registered at an academic institution to participate in Summer Session activities. Students who are taking courses towards a degree should contact their home college or university to verify transferability of any credits. Attendees should also be aware that attending summer session at UCLA does not constitute admission to UCLA.
Summer is an exceptional opportunity for international students to experience life on an American college campus. Not only does it provide a unique personal academic and social experience, it places students up close to the second largest metropolitan area in the United States.
